Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of Resolutions of the Board of Trustees of the Township of Vienna, Ohio passed on the 3rd day of July, 2017 and on the 14th day of July, 2017, Resolutions Nos. 17-130 and 17-135 respectively, there will be submitted to a vote of the people of said subdivision at the general election to be held in said Township, at the regular places of voting therein, on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 2017, the question of levying a renewal tax, in excess of the ten-mill limitation, for the benefit of said Township, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Sections 5705.03, 5705.19(J) and 5705.191, for the purpose of providing and maintaining motor vehicles, communications and other equipment used directly in the operation of a police department, or the payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, including the payment of the police officers' contribution required under section 742.33 of the Revised Code or the payment of the costs incurred by townships as a result of contracts made with other political subdivisions in order to obtain police protection, or to provide ambulance or emergency medical services operated by a police department.
Said tax being a renewal tax at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a five (5) year period of time, commencing in January 2018, first due in calendar year 2019.
The polls for said Election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. of said day.
